24 Sep Earrings on the Way
It’s always hard for me to get back in the swing of things when I haven’t worked in my studio for a long time. This time it’s been a particularly long time away. Some people talk about an artist’s block. As far as I’m concerned it’s all part of the process. The “artist’s block” is just the stage before inspiration hits. I know that all I have to do is start working and eventually my energies will coelesce into a way forward. The nice thing about my processes is that they are not tied to a specific result for the beginning. In other words, I don’t have to know where I’m going to get there. I just start.
For a warmup, I have picked up some unfinished projects. I worked on sanding a outdoor sconce that I’m making for a friend. Today I’m going to work on earrings. I have these pieces all sanded and ready to assemble. I’ll be working on some new shapes too. I can’t wait to see what comes out of it.
